I'm not updating this as much as I would like, I know why that is and I intend to get that sorted out and corrected. I'm trying to get myself into a routine with my writing, and not what my son is back in school I think that might be very possible.
On the topic of back to school I've come to see the First Day of School as 'The Best Day Ever' (regards to SpongeBob). There was some confusion on the first day as far as busing goes but now that we're into day 2 that's been sorted out and I don't see another problem on the subject. The bus didn't stop in the morning so I walked him to school, not a big deal since we live about 4 blocks from the school. After school the bus was extremely late so my Super said she would wait for the bus and I should walk down to the school and find out if there is something wrong. I got down to the school and it turns out the bus was delayed and that it had only just left a few minutes ago. When I got back to the apartment he was sitting in the Super's house watching TV with her kids and fully enjoying himself.
This morning the bus stopped for him no problem so I don't see any more problems in the upcoming future.
Over the course of the summer the peace of a city is taken for granted, well at least in the city I live in. I'm sure in places like Toronto not a lot changes. Where I am though there is a huge difference. Yesterday after my little guy was dropped at the school I took a walk to the local library and was almost in awe. The walk was quite, there weren't piles of kids everywhere and the noise was at a low level. This all took place just after 9 which is normally prime morning rush traffic time, even the traffic seemed to be at a low key pace. All very surreal.
Even today, just outside my window I notice a far lower amount of noise and activity.
At first I was a little unsure of what to do after he was off to school. Then it dawned on me that I can do all the stuff I'd been wanting to do during the summer but had to either cut short or put off because of having my son around 24/7. Don't get me wrong I love having the little man around, in the end there are sacrifices that have to be made in order to ensure that he is taken care of over the summer time which can, depending on the age of the kid, hamper some of the things that you (or I) would have liked to accomplish.
All this simply comes back around to enforcing my 'Best Day Ever' tag line.
Peace,
ClX
